Freedom Software is able to publish memorials direct to heavenaddress.com
Before the screen is available, your company will need an account with HeavenAddress® and an API key.
Getting Setup – Requesting a key
Go to the Company Details screen, Internet/Email Options tab.
Click the ‘Request HeavenAddress API Key’ button and an email will be generated for you.
Check the email, sign it and send it to the team at HeavenAddress, please do not change the Branch ID code/s as that will prevent you from uploading memorials.
When the email reply comes back with your API Key, paste it into the appropriate box.
Getting Setup – Giving staff access to the screen
Once you have an API key (the screen will not be visible in the list without a key), go to Company Data, Staff Configuration.
Select a staff member, click on the ‘Access Tree’ tab, Edit and drag the ‘Online Integration – HeavenAddress’ entry from the left side of the screen into the box on the right. Click Accept when you see it in the right side list.
The staff member will need to logoff and login again to refresh their navigation list.
Preparing a memorial for upload
In your navigation tree you should now see ‘Online Integration’, expand it to find ‘HeavenAddress’
On entering the screen the memorial details may be empty, clicking Edit will automatically fill the details from information you have entered elsewhere in FreeDAM.
You may freely change details in the memorial, note that it will not cause any data on other screens to change. (this allows you to exclude or change information in the memorial without accidentally changing the official record)
Some information in the screen will not be visible in the uploaded memorial but may be required for a successful upload. Compulsory fields that need to be fixed will highlight with a red border.
Clicking the ‘Reset from Database’ button will (after asking you) clear all fields and reset them to the ‘default’ values for the selected individual.
For the memorial to be visible on heavenaddress.com you must set the ‘Family Consent to list details’ option to Yes.
Note that, any memorial with ‘Private’ set to Yes will not be visible. (No memorial will be created when you upload).
The red note text will update to inform you of what the current options will do.
If your company has installed the HeavenAddress widget/object on your website, you can upload with both ‘Family Consent’ and ‘Private’ set to No, this will create a memorial visible in your widget but not on heavenaddress.com
The Service Details tab
FreeDAM will automatically answer Display Service as ‘No’ if the Funeral is private (set on the Case Entry screen), and Display Committal as ‘No’ if the Disposition is private (set on the Case Entry screen or Cremation/Burial screens)
The committal type will automatically be set based on the type of disposition.
The Contact Details tab
The next of kin details must be entered (they will not be displayed on the memorial) and your company details will be filled in automatically based on the branch/office the deceased has been assigned to.
Creating or Updating the memorial
Clicking upload will check that everything is entered, and after asking your permission the memorial details will be sent to heavenaddress.com
Once a memorial has been created, the URL field will update with the direct link to the memorial.
If a memorial already exists (and was uploaded by FreeDAM) for this individual, it will be updated.
Click on the link to load the webpage, or use the clipboard button to copy the address for pasting in other applications.
