This screen is for capturing the order of service information for the service sheet.
Although FreeDAM does not ‘do’ service sheets – FreeDAM can store the ‘order of service’ in text form for recall at a later date or so the staff member (Who may be in another room) constructing the order of service can refer to it as he or she works.
There are two ways to capture the order of service
As a block of text
As many orders of service are emailed through from the officiants the easiest way to have this entered into FreeDAM is to just copy it from the email and paste it into a text field in FreeDAM.
The text field on this screen is able to take the formatting from other programs. i.e you are able to make text bold, underline etc.
The FreeDAM field has the standard word processing icons along the top for you to use.

- Click into the field – Note FreeDAM will put in the already known funeral details.

The Order of Service Report
FreeDAM can assist you with suggestions from the pink list at the bottom of the screen.
There are three pink lists at the bottom of the screen…
- Service options
- Options based on the religion of the deceased
- Music options
These are designed to assist you with entering the order of service details.
Service Options
These are commonly used items in an order of service that you may wish to use often. These are able to be added to and adjusted in the ‘Preferences – Funeral Requirements – Order of Service Options’ section of FreeDAM.
Options based on the religion of the deceased
Often when we have a service sheet to do for a case of a particular religion the order of service may be very structured. (Catholic Masses for example)
FreeDAM is able to store the order of service options for catholic masses and display these in a pink list for ease of selection.
When a ‘Religion’ is selected from the drop down list on this screen that religions options are displayed in a pink list.
Here are the Catholic Options displayed on the Order of Service Screen.
Music Options
If the music for the service has been entered on the ‘Music’ section of FreeDAM then these items are able to be used on this Order of Service screen.
Note: See the Music Section for instructions on how to enter music for a service.
Adjusting the ‘Order of Service Options’ Preference
When building an order of service with FreeDAM’s assistance you are able to set up commonly used items in a list.
Specific items can be set to show only in the case of a particular religion.
To adjust these items go to ‘Preferences – Funeral Requirements – Order of Service Options’
To add a new Order of Service item..
- Click ‘Insert’
- Type in the name or title of the item or choose an option from the frop down list.
- Add a description if required
- Choose a particular religion for this item if required – blank will display for all.
- Click ‘Accept’
Note: code words are able to be used. These will replace a particular code word with real data from the known case’s information.
For example:
Entering ‘Memories of NICKNAMES life’ in the description field for a slideshow item will be displayed in the pink list on the order of service sheet screen for a case who’s nickname is Jim as ‘Memories of Jim’s life’
Adding Religions
If the religion you wish to use is not listed – you are able to add religions via the ‘Preferences – General – Religions’ screen.
